About the Project

Evan Hansen, a high school senior struggling with social anxiety, creates a false friendship with Connor Murphy, a classmate who has tragically passed away. When a therapy letter from Evan is mistaken for a suicide note, his fabricated story leads to unexpected popularity and relationships, but also risks the truth coming to light.

Audition Instructions

  • Prepare a contemporary monologue.
  • Singers should prepare a song from a musical standard.
  • Total audition package should not exceed 5 minutes. An accompanist will be provided.
  • Bring sheet music in your key, headshot, and resume.

Connor eventually takes his own life during Act 1. His ghost appears in Evan's mind throughout the rest of the musical.
